It gives me great pleasure, on behalf of my colleagues on Ottawa City Council, to welcome all those participating in the Canadian Armed Forces Outlooks 2026, hosted by the Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries (CADSI), taking place April 7th to 9th in Canada’s capital on unceded Anishinabe Algonquin territory. The National Capital Region is home to 330 defence, aerospace and security companies, employing more than 10,000 skilled workers, in addition to Area X.O., a Research and Development complex with the only drone and advanced robotics testing and training centre of its kind in Canada. It is also the location of four NATO DIANA test centres, which collectively make our region a prime venue for CAF Outlooks 2026. As Head of Council, I want to acknowledge CADSI, in addition to the guest speakers, exhibitors and sponsors for dedicating time, efforts, expertise, services and resources to the successful organization of this important meeting. Allow me to offer my best wishes to everyone in attendance for a productive and rewarding gathering, as well as to the visitors for an enjoyable stay in Ottawa.
